When electric current passes through a conductor, it has to face some resistance. Some energy is dissipated in the form of heat in order to overcome the resistance. This is called heating effect of electric current.

Simple when electric current flows continue from a conductor it's get heated b/C of its resistance It's depend on its resistance how much the wire is getting heated
