THE MERCHANT AND THE RAVENS
Ravens are a popular bird, since people believe that they tell omens and signs. Once, some merchants were traveling through a jungle. They saw a raven perched atop a branch. The raven was blind in one eye. One of the travelers saw that and concluded that the one-eyed raven meant that they should return back home. Another traveler said, “If this raven could not predict the loss of his own eye, and could not take precautions to save its eye; then how could it predict right or wrong for us”. The traveler asserted that it is foolish to believe on such omens and they should continue their onward journey. The person who cannot keep its own house in order is not the right person to give advice to others.
