THE WOLF AND HIS SHADOW
A wolf was wandering in the grassland when the sun was setting in the western sky. When the wolf saw its long shadow, it was overawed and exclaimed, “I never knew that I was so big. A creature as great as me should not be afraid of the lion. I am a hundred feet tall. I should be the king of the jungle, instead of that wretched lion. It is high time I should go and stake my claim to the throne”. When the wolf was boasting about himself, a mighty lion was listening to all that. The lion pounced on the wolf and devoured him. The moral of the story is, “Self-conceit can prove to be the biggest undoing of a person”.
