The Earthworm and The Snake
There was an earthworm. It had a highly stretchable body. The earthworm used to think that it could stretch its body to any length. It was proud of its capability and always boasted about that. One day, the earthworm saw a snake. The snake was stretched out and was enjoying the sunshine. The snake was apparently very long, compared to the earthworm. The earthworm became envious of the snake’s length. The earthworm wished to be as long as the snake. It tried to extend itself. It stretched as much as it could but could not match the snake’s length. The earthworm kept on stretching itself. When it crossed its stretching limits, the earthworm broke into many pieces and died. The moral of the story is, “One should know one’s limitations otherwise one would destroy oneself”.
