The Beauty Contest of The Birds
All the birds decided to hold a beauty contest. The king of the jungle was made the judge of the contest. All the birds gathered near a clearing in the forest. The birds started to preen their feathers so that they could turn in their finest beauty. Although the contest was full of beautiful birds; like peacock, parrot, woodpecker, etc.; the jackdaw also thought of participating in the contest. The jackdaw had an all black body, so it thought of decorating itself with feathers of other birds. The owl, being the wisest bird, recognized the strange bird which was sporting feathers of different kinds of bird. The owl called all other birds and they started plucking off false feathers from the jackdaw and thus revealed its real identity. The jackdaw was highly embarrassed as it lost its artificial beauty.
