THE FOX AND THE RAVEN
Once, a raven caught a piece of cheese. The raven perched on a high branch to enjoy the cheese. A fox saw the raven and came near the tree. The fox’s mouth started watering at the sight of the cheese. Her mind started scheming to somehow get the cheese. The fox said, “You are such a beautiful bird. Your colour looks like the colour of the royalty. I have also heard that you have a wonderful voice. I would love to hear your melodious song. Why don’t you sing for me?” The raven was puffed up with pride after hearing words of praise from the fox. The raven started crowing and the cheese dropped from its beak. The fox ran away with the cheese. While running away the fox said, “You do have a voice, but no brains to go with it”.
