THE FARMER, THE WASPS AND THE PARTRIDGES
Some wasps and some partridges were feeling thirsty. While looking for water to drink, they saw a farmer’s house. They went to the house and requested the farmer for water. The wasps said that they would guard the farmer’s vines from thieves, by stinging a thief; in lieu of water. The partridges said, they would dig around the vines so that they would produce better grapes. The farmer said, “I have a pair of oxen, which do all these things. And they do them without asking for a bargain. So, I will prefer to give water to my oxen rather than to you”. Some people are highly ungrateful and have no empathy for others. The farmer, in this story, is like such people.
