लेखक ने प्रत्यक्ष रूप से आजादी की लड़ाई की तरफ कोई संकेत नहीं दिया है। लेकिन यदि बैलों को रूपक मान लें तो उनकी लड़ाई आजादी की लड़ाई की तरफ संकेत करती है। जिस तरह अधिक अत्याचार से त्रस्त होकर हीरा और मोती बगावत का बिगुल बजा देते हैं उसी तरह भारत के लोगों ने भी आजादी की लड़ाई शुरु की थी।
