THE FOXES AT THE RIVER
A group of foxes came near a river bank to drink water. But the current in the river water was so strong that none of them dared to go into the river. They were urging one another to take the initiative. The youngest of them came forward and said, “Shame on you, O cowards. I am the bravest among you and I don’t fear going into the river”. Saying that, the youngest fox took the plunge; in the river. Immediately, she was carried by currents in the middle of the river and was struggling to hold its head high. The other foxes shouted, “Don’t go away. Come back and tell us how to get to the water so that we can also have a drink”. Boasting often leads one to trouble.
