The Farmer and The Birds
A farmer had sown seeds in his field and wanted to keep a watch on the birds. When the bird flew down for the first time to feast on the seeds, the farmer asked his son to bring the sling. The farmer aimed a few stones at the birds but they flew away before being hit. Now, the farmer decided to talk to his son in code-words. It was decided that he would call for bread and it would mean the sling. When the birds came down again, the farmer called his son for ‘bread’. The birds thought that the farmer was going to throw a party for them and hence did not fly away. While the birds were waiting for the ‘bread’ to arrive; many of them were hit by the slingshot. The birds said, “The man has turned wicked; saying one thing while doing another”.
