THE RAVEN, THE SWALLOW AND THE SEASONS
The swallow thought of it as more beautiful than the raven and hence they were arguing. The swallow said, “You are black and ugly and hence no human being likes you”. The raven replied, “Your beauty is just external. It shows only in the springtime. During winter it is of no use as you cannot stand the extremely cold weather. During summer you cannot stand the extremely hot weather. Look at me. I may not be apparently beautiful, but I can withstand extreme heat of summers and extreme cold of winters. It is the inner strength which counts for survival”. The moral of the story is, “External beauty is not very useful. It is the internal abilities which make someone fit for the life”.
